I'm looking for ideas, currently I've got him contained on a chain in a small 1z-level high 5x5 building with pillars on the corners and drawbridges for walls. The idea is to open the walls when attacked on the surface and let him nuke the area but I imagine there's better uses.

I assume the training he's gotten from my legendary animal trainer will eventually fall off and he'll be fully aggressive so I don't think I'll have the luxury of moving him later very easily.

Also- LOL @ a 400 year old dragon the size of a bus with fire breath hotter than the sun stuck in a wooden cage.

EDIT: Update in comments.

Well, after a human army aborted their attack I had an interesting target for my defence.

I pulled the lever!

And the cyclops beat the shit out of the dragon, but bought me enough time to pull the lever again, locking it in.

New problems.

"New problems" made me laugh and startle my cat. Thank you.

First thing I would do is to build a golden chamber, with golden furniture and a golden throne, just as a residence for the dragon xD

Fun!

Your first idea is pretty good I think. Those types of defenses can be real handy - but a rampaging dragon may well take yall down with the attackers.

Can they breathe fire through windows? Maybe you can build a "jail cell" for him on the front of your fort, with an aperture he can shoot flames from, like an automated flamethrower turret. But you can do similar things with magma, idk if it'd work better or not.

It's been a long time since I played much and I've never been half as good at engineering this stuff as a lot of people

Yeah, fun™ indeed!

My plan going in was a fortress that relied on forgotten beasts for defense (I've only ever slain them or died trying) so this capture has been an expected delight however I'm a bit outta my depth here, both in terms of building-destroyer/megabeast manipulation and their use of in fort defense.

Haha yeah I've never gotten my forts that far I can tell you that

Naturally the next step's gotta be scour the world for the rest of the pair and set up a nest box.

I thought about that, assuming there's another dragon in legends, how realistic is the goal of breeding dragons? How would one even seek out a dragon?

Don't they require hundreds of years before they are large enough to pose a threat? They are born as adults so they can't be fully domesticated or tamed right?

I thought they would attack military on-sight so I've been reluctant to try any war training.

Probably totally unrealistic due to the fact that they're megabeasts and therefore almost impossible to find.
