Yay! That's fucking great. Liberating, huh?
It really is. I feel so good right now.
I remember mine, I was unsure until someone talked about how much the color suited me and it felt awesome. I think I instantly found a new favorite color ๐
I'm happy for you too :))
It feels so different right?
Maybe you can make some friends at the local lgbtq groups. Then you can go shopping together, which feels a lot safer.
Also this sounds weird but it might be easier to go to a female only store. That gets rid of any unclarity for everyone involved.
You might just pay a visit first and see how the employees react. Maybe talk shortly with them and ask them when it'll be the least busy. Maybe browse a bit. Also some stores have more hidden changing rooms than others, and mostly you'll be inside any way. Especially if you have someone to help you. Again you can ask an employee for help to here.
As I mentioned somewhere else, you'll notice quickly if you're welcome or not, and that'll depend on your local culture I imagine. I'm from a conservative area but have had a lot of support. You're dealing with people who are into fashion any way.
The biggest thing I have to do in the next little while is find a way to commit to some lgbtq groups / people generally. Idk how to explain it, I'm just pretty stuck right now.
That's a totally normal experience, just listen to your feelings and follow your intuition. There's no need to rush anything.
thank you, honestly helps so much.
Just imagine all the future steps and how much they'll help :)
Chica, you sound so much like me right now! Are you me?
Let's go girl! We can do this!
Let's goooo!
Seriously though, I already didn't know how to meet people, and now the pool of people I want to meet got even smaller. I find support groups, but I'd like to meet more people who aren't in the initial struggle stage you know?
Totally get that. Hard to explain but I feel like I might lost my connection I had to anything locally.
I had not even considered finding other lgbt+ to shop with(probably a testament to my isolation), and have never heard of extra secret changing rooms. This has been some enlightening advice!
It sucks that you're isolated. Belonging somewhere is a basic human need I believe.
Congrats!!!! ๐ ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ It feels so great to make that step. Very happy for you ๐ซถ
It really does feel great, thank you
