Regardless of what you do with it, the car is emissions-free.

It's not. The energy has to be produced somehow and if it isn't renewable then womp womp. Also you're hauling a lot of dead weight because of the shitty design and it needs constant maintainance and replacements which also makes it less sustainable. It doesn't have an exhaust but that's not where all emissions are released.

So… the benefit of BEV/PEV is that the source of pollution is not at the consumer level. Once the source of energy production is modernized, every vehicle gets that gain.

But yes, making big stupid vehicles because there are no emissions is still stupid.
