At first, I was like "that geezer is hard as fuck, seen more shit than one dude should ever see, and is sat there totally chill"...

...and then his lad started crying and felt the complete opposite.

That poor kid has been traumatised for years and did fuck all to deserve it.

That's the thing though, there is nowhere to go. You can't run away from bombing because you don't know where the next one will fall. You're just as likely to run to the next target as away from it.

You just get to sit there, hoping that if you don't survive it's because you got killed instantly instead of being trapped and crushed by rubble waiting until you dehydrate to death over a few days.

[-] jaxxed@lemmy.ml 12 points 6 days ago

That trauma doesn't go away.

[-] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

If you can hear it falling, you're ok...

[-] PhobosAnomaly@feddit.uk 27 points 6 days ago

I dunno man. I think if you were to ask that young lad in ten weeks; ten months; ten years...

No, I think America is very well involved.

[-] nargis@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 5 days ago

That explains why they thought bombing an entire building full of civilians to kill a guy meeting his girlfriend was a good idea.

[-] Riprif@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

The people there should take care of the terrorists there themselves, before other countries feel obligated to do it.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

They do. They are taking care of the terrorists in Tel Aviv.

[-] Kaput@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

So designating a target implies more involvement than actually dropping the bombs? You see your honor, it was not really involved, it's mostly the driver, he dropped me in front of the bank, I merely shot the teller in the face.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Israel tells the US where to bomb. The US then bombs that area filled with civilians.

[-] GoodOleAmerika@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I dunno. Israel subreddit was bragging about it. Houthi this that bruh.

And hope u guys know how AIPAC lobbying works to use our tax dollars. In business world we call it OPM. Other People's Money

[-] aras@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago

It's sad that civilians and people who have done nothing wrong are going through this.

[-] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 29 points 5 days ago

A man has to comfort his son and be ready to accept that he and his son could be hit because * checks notes* - Ah, yes, for "peace."

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 13 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

It's for sure that young man won't remember this moment of terror and live his life accordingly.

[-] brewery@lemmy.world 48 points 6 days ago

Fuck man, as a father this hits hard. At first I thought how is he so chill, maybe this happens all the time. Then when the kid appears and is so distraught.. shit

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 27 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

That father reacted like the kid when he was younger.

[-] atro_city@fedia.io 75 points 6 days ago

This is how you create terrorists.

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 124 points 6 days ago

Point of fact: the US are the terrorists here. πŸ‘Š πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ πŸ”₯

Pretty undeniable

[-] in4apenny@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 days ago

Always have been.

[-] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 29 points 5 days ago

They've been regularly bombed using American and British bombs for a decade or so, via Saudi Arabian planes, so the big difference is that this time around the Americans haven't used a middlemen which you really can't tell from below.

This probably explains the father's reaction.

[-] TwoBeeSan@lemmy.world 58 points 6 days ago

This is one of the most humanizing videos I've seen.

Fucking tragic.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 50 points 6 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

We're bombing you because you told a friend of ours to stop bombing your friends who can't defend themselves.

We're bombing you because we want peace.

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 38 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

War crime documented.

Your move now Hague.

Hague seems to take years to do something; but i sure hope they will find a certain punishment eventually.

[-] LongboardingLad@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago

I yearn for the day when violence isn't a fundamental part of the human soul. Whatever political ideology leads to this, it can't be worth it can it?

[-] _stranger_@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Well, at the current rate, our extinction isn't far off, so you might get to live to see that day!

[-] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 29 points 6 days ago

Terrifying.

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 26 points 6 days ago

Poor kid...

[-] HappinessPill@lemmy.ml 24 points 6 days ago

This is sad as fuck people sometimes have nowhere to go

[-] OmegaLemmy@discuss.online 9 points 6 days ago

I wonder how many majors, sergeants and generals to cause a civil war that forces people to pick sides
