Summary

Minnesota Republican state Sen. Justin Eichorn, who introduced a bill classifying "Trump Derangement Syndrome" as a mental illness, was arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor.

Police say Eichorn believed he was meeting a 16-year-old girl but was actually texting undercover officers. His arrest came just a day after he and four other Republican senators introduced the controversial bill.

Eichorn, who is married with four children, was booked into jail and will be transferred to the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.

What an asshole.

If there were an amendment to remove senators charged with pedophilia, Republicans would be in the minority.

[-] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 25 points 11 hours ago

They're already in the minors.

Pedocon theory is a theory just like gravity is a theory. Projection is their loudest attribute.

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 44 points 13 hours ago

LOL, another republican kiddie diddler. Add him to the pile.

[-] LonstedBrowryBased@lemm.ee 5 points 9 hours ago

Lmfao do this to all the republican politicians please especially the ones who seem so concerned about liberals being pedophiles

[-] HeadfullofSoup@kbin.earth 26 points 13 hours ago

Hiw long before he get the pardon?

[-] massacre@lemmy.world 38 points 13 hours ago

Thankfully, POTUS can't pardon a state crime, only federal.

Like ok. The Nazis were dumb. Anti-intellectuals tend to be.

But

What the fuck is it with these guys

[-] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 18 points 12 hours ago

Why does this consistently keep happening but only to republicans?

They should include in the title he got arrested for trying to solicit sex for minors, not the bill.

I think even most republicans think pedophiles are bad.

[-] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 12 points 11 hours ago

They can't wait to tell you how bad they are

But only if they wear blue ties 🤷‍♂️

[-] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 8 points 11 hours ago

I hate that they're trying to lump trans people in with pedophiles.

Republicans can go fuck themselves. Every single one of them, and every single person who voted for them.

Signed: a Canadian who's probably had one too many beers this evening.

Isn't one of the goals of Project 2025 to implement the death penalty for pedophiles?

[-] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 11 hours ago

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

The law will not be used the way you think.

[-] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 7 points 10 hours ago

Well I know the REAL intent is to target LGBTQ people
