Shermy stoops in front of her and says,"Gee, Patty, I didn't know you could type..."

He sits next to her and she replies,"Sure, I can type a hundred letters a minute!"

She concludes,"The only trouble is I can't make them into words!"

For those who never used a typewriter: typing on this machine really took some mastery and strength. Of course typing the plain text wasn't very difficult but who needs the plain text? Tables, graphs, etc. demanded experience. And strength. Yes, a small child wouldn't be able to type more than a dozen words.

Plus you needed to really actively lift your fingers after each keystroke or the arms would jam
