I didn’t think they were ever here?
is either an official account or impersonating an official account.
Seems like it might be official and just joined to tell us they’re totally not worshipping authoritarians
Yeah I agree. Can't look more official than that.
AFAIK this is not an official channel. But to be fair, I just checked and I don't think it says so anywhere.
Oops that's a bit embarrassing, but I really think the description should include "not an official Proton channel" or something in that case.
It is listed in their community page which adds to the confusion.
I checked since I wondered if there was some other place they are active on other than reddit and Twitter, and if they had their own forum.
After the stunt they pulled, praising Trump and the Republican party, I seriously think Proton is just a wolf in sheep's clothing. They are like Apple: telling people what they want to hear about privacy, and we all swallowed the pill.
Unfortunately Tutanota, the only other free, privacy aware service, really just locks you in and is thus worse as a choice.
I don't even know why they care so much about US politics as a swiss company. Just do your business.
Exactly! Just STFU and do your job. Giving people reasons not to pick you is just dumb.
It's disappointing that they prefer X, Bluesky and Threads over something like Mastodon.
The math clearly shows that Mastodon is the one to cut
I really don't understand what's so hard about this. Most companies post the most basic stuff that it would be trivial to script repeaters for.
i wish I didn't lose my og tuta email
