I see the project to turn Twitter into a tool for right wing fascist disinformation efforts is progressing well.

It's certainly been way, way, way more effective at this than previous efforts (Truth Social, etc)

No, this is stupidity. If he wanted a platform for right wing disinformation he wouldn’t have changed anything.

I hope we sometime soon move beyond discussing Twitter and its saboteur. There's so much more in tech happening than whatever headline he's trying to grab with his newest sabotage.

It also says that the change going to happen even though X ran it by advertisers who didn't like it.

Holy shit this man is a fucking idiot. Advertisers who left in droves and he is now trying to get back have told him they don't like this, and the motherfucker says yeah, who cares what you think I'm doing it anyway. I never got on the Musk is a genius train, and now I hope all those that believed he was are waking up.

Musk tweeted that journalists who want "more freedom to write and a higher income" should publish directly on X.

Yeah, I just don't see that happening, it's also a plan to get more users for his paid checkmark because to publish directly on Twitter, they'll need those extra 25k characters.

LMAO; "more freedom" to be held prisoner to the whims of a narcissistic sociopath as he lurches from one baffling, illogical, self-defeating edict to the next.

Currently I think my leading theory is that Elon Musk has made a deal with a witch, and in exchange for eternal life he has to burn 44 billion dollars as fast as possible. I see no other explanation for these batshit decisions.

[-] ryanspeck@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Perhaps it's a Brewster's Millions situation, where he has to burn through a bunch of money quickly to earn even more money.

[-] EvilMonkeySlayer@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

So... A supernatural version of Brewsters Millions?

Go home #Xitter, you're drunk.

All I can do is laugh at how spectacularly this company is failing under Musk. I've never had more fun watching someone flail about and burn 44+ billion. Think about it, this how he handles Twitter, why would you trust yourself in one of his cars, especially with ever growing list of quality control issues they have.
