Just the inevitable transition from the corporate oligarchy of late stage capitalism, to state-capitalist fascist dictatorship.

[-] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago

Not quite, Capitalism has long since turned to its Imperialist phase, but this is the long and drawn out death of the system. The US has been fascist for a long while.

I refused to believe it was real. It's real.

Jesus we're a joke

I’m planning on bringing this department up for discussion any time I talk with a ‘true conservative’ Republican.

Please explain how the best way to improve government efficiency is to establish and staff a new department and give it two leaders.

[-] Asafum@feddit.nl 20 points 3 months ago

I forgot the name, but supposedly there's a department that essentially already exists that serves this function so it's extra stupid.

It’s like an absurdity onion.

Department of Redundancy Department

[-] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah but how else are you supposed to ingratiate yourself with your base if you can’t make a joke with the acronym? /s

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 16 points 3 months ago

I mean the whole thing is stupid but your question isn't very hard to answer for them.

"DOGE will cut out more money and bureaucracy than it creates"

And it may well! But what they're gonna cut is the shit that's actually good for people...

[-] bobs_monkey@lemm.ee 11 points 3 months ago

Apparently Ramaswamy is bailing on DOGE to run for governor in Ohio, leaving Eldolf Muskler all by himself (which I'm not sure what's worse).

Graeber is rotating in his grave like a beyblade

[-] SirQuackTheDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Doge smells a lot like something that could become a Sicherheitsdienst in case Trump goes totalitarian.

"you don't like to work for trump? Looks like your position is no longer a requirement".

I know it's a bit of a stretch, but Elon Hitler is mad enough to act like it.

[-] karashta@lemm.ee 47 points 3 months ago

Nothing more efficient than creating an entire quasi governmental branch of bureaucracy to oversee the bureaucracy

[-] sonori@beehaw.org 4 points 3 months ago

A tripley redundant one two.

I mean you’d think he’d at least merge with Ragan’s one.

[-] ramble81@lemm.ee 37 points 3 months ago

The main whitehouse.gov site removed the Constitution page from it.

[-] __nobodynowhere@lemm.ee 23 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Constitution? Where we're going we don't need constitutions!

[-] HiddenLayer555@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I REALLY don't get this one. Aren't the alt right obsessed with patriotism shit? Why would they remove the constitution? Then again I'm not American so I don't know the nuances.

Seems they changed the logo

So much worse but also better to not shitstain the doggo

[-] LoamImprovement@beehaw.org 13 points 3 months ago

Gross, AI gen artwork

[-] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 months ago

I guess using stolen AI slop for a logo is efficient

[-] LePoisson@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago

The level of cringe, I don't know if the world can handle it.

Have you seen the Spanish version?

https://www.whitehouse.gov/es/

Edit: nevermind they "fixed" it, it used to say Go Home

[-] ramble81@lemm.ee 9 points 3 months ago

Holy shit. Did you grab a screenshot before they changed it?

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 9 points 3 months ago

It appears that, before they completely removed the Spanish translation the "Go to home page" button might have been still Spanish and read "Vete a casa"

I dunno if it's intentional or true but it would've been very on the fucking nose.

[-] Jessica@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 3 months ago

Not that I don't believe you, but I checked archive.org and unfortunately it's not there so hopefully you screen capped it. For me right now it just gives a 404

[-] AnonomousWolf@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Unfortunately not, I'll try and find a source for it

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 months ago

Joder.

“Go home” is even worse than

How did they get this approved

[-] davel@lemmy.ml 44 points 3 months ago

They don’t need anyone’s approval. They’re in charge. This is a flex.

[-] Darkassassin07@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 months ago

Americas citizens voted them into the highest office in the land (either directly or passively).

There is no more 'get this approved'; just 'this is what I've decided, deal with it'.

[-] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 months ago

Genuinely embarrassed to be American.

[-] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 months ago

So ironic. The site does nothing. There's nothing to click on. or any plans/goals. I don't get the joke.

[-] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 15 points 3 months ago

The efficiency is in being an ad for dogecoin on a site paid for by taxpayers!

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.ml 13 points 3 months ago

Trump government. In no way shape or form is that a US government thing

[-] AnonomousWolf@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

America wanted this, you can say what you want but America wanted this. They voted him into power twice.

He won by far, and got the popular vote.

[-] Sam_Bass@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

He won by cheating as he always has. Elrod muks handed him the keys to the kingdom that he wouldn't have gotten w/o the s.a. ssmbs

Canonical link pointing to x.com? That's peculiar.

That means doge.gov site will be treated as ~~equal to~~ a duplicate of x.com/doge. That doesn't seem like a very governmental approach...

They say history repeats itself but I don't remember hearing about Nero throwing gas on the fire between songs.

[-] Redex68@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

It doesn't seem to have a logo anymore (at least not when I open it)
