Those bananas in the bottom pic definitely look edible to me. They taste better slightly overripe too.

[-] vox@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 year ago

i kinda like green-ish ones, "bad" ones are also fine (still fully edible, even the black parts)

[-] Hotdogman@lemmy.world 21 points 1 year ago

It's a very appealing fruit.

[-] NegativeLookBehind@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Do you think bananas are sexy?

[-] DrNyaaa 8 points 1 year ago

Yes and so r u

[-] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

I love bananas, but recently I became allergic. Seems related to my longstanding latex allergy. It's too bad.

Not to be a part of the anti-banana conspiracy (that’d be crazy yall) but yall realize JUST HOW RADIOACTIVE BANANAS ARE COMPARED TO OTHER FRUIT LIKE TOMATOES ITS NOT A CONSPIRACY THEYRE TRYIN TO KILL US ALL VIA BANANAS

SHEEPLE WAKE UP FFS

[-] kspatlas@artemis.camp 8 points 1 year ago

Aren't humans much more radioactive than bananas

[-] Sketchpad01@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago
[-] don@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

I just skip the humans altogether and eat the radiation. Not as fattening.

[-] PixTupy@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 year ago

Mmmmmmm... radioactivity...

[-] I_Miss_Daniel@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago

Found today that our goats like to eat the peel.

[-] ShootBANGdang@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

I hate them. Can’t stand the texture, and the flavor isn’t even good. Like eating a soggy pasty log

[-] PeachyMcPeachface 5 points 1 year ago

No same. I eat them right before the last of the green goes away and it's much more pleasant.

Unfortunately, also going extinct if we don't play our cards right. All crop bananas are monocultures, basically clones, and there is a strain of fungus that has adapted to infect them with near 100% mortality rate. A single speck of contaminated soil can destroy an entire field, and it is only aggravated by the effects of climate change which are already devastating food production in general. In fact, we've already lost one banana cultivar to another very similar fungus. Commenting not to be a downer but to raise awareness of this active and serious issue. Bananas are a staple crop that many people depend on to survive, both economically and directly as a source of food. Programs are underway to save them but success is far from guaranteed.

They also fit nicely in my asshole.

Doesn't make a mess during consumption? Tell that to my 2 year old...

[-] toxicbubble@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

can also be used to substitute eggs in baking!

I will never try the tasty bananas.

The only bananas I will ever eat were thought of as trash by the people that got to eat the tasty bananas.

The closest I will ever come is the artificial flavor in the runtz candy bananas.

[-] Zagorath@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago

the artificial flavor in the runtz candy bananas

Long live the gros michel.

[-] Stoneykins@mander.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

I knew they had a more official name than "tasty banana" but I couldn't think of it, thank

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Fun fact: Artificial banana flavoring became popular in the US a decade before fresh bananas were readily available.

I'm ready for the creationists claiming bananas are evidence of God

[-] Dr_pepper_spray@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I love their reasoning is really the result of thousands of years of human cultivation and cross-breeding.

Do you want a banana?

This banana for you

[-] A_A@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago

I believe in this community you have to write the word "rule" in the title, like so :
Banana? Banana rules !
(you can edit the title even after posting, that is, if you want so)

[-] Depress_Mode@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

You don't have to, it's just that everyone copies everyone else doing it. All that's asked of users is to post when visiting.

Yep. Stuff like this shouldn't be rule(s). Like it was on reddit. (Meirl, what could go wrong...)
