Not sure if thats a parody of Gamers complaining about "ugly" women or if they are serious and also stupid on the same level

Original Chuddish: "Hire fans lol"

Translated to English: "I've never once seen a real woman from up close (they always run away and call me a freak)"

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

Am I alone in finding the "fan" image for Ciri even more off-putting than the original one, even if Ciri was doing something where attractiveness was relevant? People who wear that much makeup end up in the uncanny valley for me.

[-] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 11 points 11 months ago

She looks weird and vacant, like a literal sex doll. But I suppose that's what they want

[-] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 15 points 11 months ago

I'm pretty sure it's a parody, but it'd be hilariously unhinged if it became real.

[-] Karjalan@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

So poes law is alive and well.

[-] Atlas_@lemmy.world 38 points 11 months ago

There's no forcing. I actually didn't look in the mirror my first playthrough and I stand by that choice

[-] Kinakuta@lemmy.world 16 points 11 months ago

Wait a minute, he looks different if you don't look in the mirror in his apartment? I think it's time I replay this game...

[-] voxthefox@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

Not different, it's just fuzzy and you can't make out the face, I did the same thing in one of my playthroughs

[-] flicker@lemmy.dbzer0.com 29 points 11 months ago

I actually thought this kind of degenerate nonsense was someone joking but today I saw a mod for Baldur's Gate 3 to make Gortash "handsome," so I'm obviously out of touch.

[-] VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

Gortash actually is supposed to be younger and more attractive, according to the narrator at several points.

i still haven’t finished this game because i don’t want it to be over. even though i haven’t played it in months, i can take comfort in knowing im not truly done with it

[-] heavy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 11 months ago

There's more to see if you go through it as a different "character"

[-] affiliate@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

my problem goes deeper than you might initially expect. i have made many many characters for this game. however, none of them have finished it

[-] AnarchistArtificer@slrpnk.net 8 points 11 months ago

I sympathise with you here, and I won't urge you to finish it (because I know it's not that simple), but I do hope that you are able to some day, because the ending of the game is one of the things that is dear to my heart in the game (I am curious at what the furthest you've gotten in it is). It's not even that the ending is good — the reason I love it is because of how it hurts: it hurts because it means the game is finally over, and it also hurts because the characters in the game don't get the closure of an ending. Disco Elysium actually feels tremendously hopeful to me, but it's a weary, desperate kind of hope, because Revachol is sick and struggling; Martinaise, depressing shit hole that it is, reminds me of home — I say this with equal parts bitterness and affection. You would probably take away something different from the ending than I did, which is why I hope that you are able to experience it some day.

Un jour je serai de retour près de toi

Have you ever thought about finishing them off at the same time?

[-] Obi@sopuli.xyz 2 points 11 months ago

I've seen some documentaries about this.

[-] abbotsbury@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

I still haven't finished this game because the variety of choices and behavior gives me paralyzing FOMO

[-] affiliate@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

yeah i have been having that problem too. i kept making new characters and reloading saves to see what would happen. i know it ends up making the experience worse but i just can’t help myself. i need to know. i also need to have all the fun stat boosting items and then i find myself optimizing the fun out of the game.

[-] zarkanian@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

You can replay it, you know.

[-] fsxylo@sh.itjust.works 27 points 11 months ago

This is my favorite internet gag lately.

[-] Flamekebab@piefed.social 18 points 11 months ago

In my game I got him to stop grinning...

[-] Scubus@sh.itjust.works 18 points 11 months ago

OG joel looks better. Only reason the new guy at the top looks better is because hes vaguely reminiscent of luigi

I didnt see shit

[-] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 months ago

I'm glad I'm not the only one with that thought!

I only see a disco man, as handsome as Hjelmdallerman himself, doing THE EXPRESSION. I bet he is doing the fuck a lot.

A male protagonist should always look like he either just fucked a bear, or got fucked by a bear. The one on the left meets both of these criteria and is passable.

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 months ago

I bet the people who do this aren't very attractive. So weird...

[-] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 3 points 11 months ago

The funny thing is that conventionally its the left one that was attractive. Todays standards for men are actually more traditionally feminine. I dont really care but its funny to find gaping holes in logic like this.

[-] Dasus@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago

Todays standards for men are actually more traditionally feminine

*giggles in baroque and rococo*

Do you mean like men liking blue, instead of pink? As traditionally blue is a gentle colour, meant for girls, whereas pink is strong and vibrant, and meant for boys.
