The recent Interstella 5555 "remaster" was also done with AI, and a lot of people really hate it. Myself included.
Not because "AI bad!", but just because it sucks. Lots of errors, and loss of the original vibe and texture.

Yea, these newer AI remasters look like they had Junior editors overseeing it and that's it, AI with experienced people working it can do some excellent work IMO especially when the original film is lost or never recorded to it, e.g. TV shows from the 90s like Star Trek Voyager
Sigh. I hate the fact that I have to research every 4K release I consider buying just to see if it's been butchered.
I missed the days when remasters were done by somebody manually coloring every frame
