Premieres April 2025. Check out the Crucnhyroll article for additional information. Synopsis from AniList:

At a rural junior high school, a boy and a girl vowed eternal friendship, and two years passed smoothly in their relationship......!

The story follows the lives of two young people, Inuzuka Himari, who has yet to find her first love, and Natsume Yuu, a flower-loving boy, who remained best friends in their second year of high school, together in the gardening club. Sometimes Hiyori will tease him by say things like, "If Yu can't get married, I'll have to take the blame. It's hard when your brother calls him 'brother-in-law!" But when Yuu is reunited with his first crush from the past, the wheels of their relationship suddenly started to turn! Will Himari's newfound feelings help her break free from her "ideal friend" status?

Just a note on this one. I found a bunch of different versions of this title depending on the source. As far as I can tell, there isn't yet an "official" English title. I decided to go with Crunchyroll's English title since they are (realistically speaking) the most likely to license the show.

Also, on a personal note, I hate the boys and girls can't be friends trope that pops up in media. So, I am inclined to not like this series based on that...but I also understand the title may just be bait to get readers (it is a light novel series originally after all).

I hate the boys and girls can’t be friends trope that pops up in media.

Same. I think if the title was just "Can Friendship Between Men and Women Exist?" it would be fine since it's leaving it open, but the "(No, it doesn't!)" answer spoils it.

Also, I feel like the characters look just like characters from another anime. Or it could just be that they're so generic as to be indistinguishable from other blue-hair anime girls/black hair anime boy.

It's not you. This looks generic and cookie cutter as hell
