I think most of them thought they would be the pumpers and dumpers and not the ones holding the bag. Saw influencers pull the same sort of shit a few years ago. "Here is how I made money quickly scamming others by pump and dumping memes Musk references". (This is still a confidence scam and the blame should be put on the people pulling it and not the dumb greedy victims imho).
