Full disc rips perhaps. Unfortunately many remux don’t bother to pass through such tracks (though some do). Some groups like qxr often but not always may include them when available. Thing is they only really exist for movies released in the past perhaps 15 years from what I’ve seen.
Ah, okay. Thanks for letting us know! We'll look into qxr.
Yeah, it seems like for pirate groups accessibility isn't really a pirority sadly.
Guess I'll just have to do it myself. Hopefully eventually there might be something like open subtitles but for descriptive tracks.
About the time frame — that's fine, since it seems like those people mostly want to watch recent movies.
Be the change you want to see in the world. If you are buying some disks anyway for the accessible tracks, you should rip and release them for others.
Sharing is caring.
Ah, I barely buy discs nowadays, but if I do I will and I'll do the same with the discs we already have.
Just be thoughtful. Accessibility is not seen as an excuse for breaking copyright. Take precautions.
Also if you’ve never done audio editing I’ll mention audacity the editor has a tool called “auto duck” that’s perfect for lowering the volume of other tracks in a mix when your select track with your voiceover makes noise To enhance clarity of it.
I have done audio editing but didn't know that, thank you!
Pirate groups generally try to optimize for the minimum they themselves actually need.
For example most specialized trackers only allow for english audio and some even restrict subtitles, which makes it difficult to find torrents for other languages. The only option is finding BluRay disks and then doing the remuxing.
Audiovault.net is the website you want. Made by and for blind folks, it has thousands of AD tracks in mp3 format. You should be able to just sync them with the video. Though blind folks never bother; we only care about audio anyway.
Thank you so much! We'll check it out. Yeah, we are quite well versed with editing so we should be able to chop it in to the pre existing tacks and/or add it as another track in the file itself.
Not sure what you mean by only caring about audio anyway. Would you like to explain?
When watching a movie or tv show by ourselves, blind people can’t see the picture. So unless we are watching with a sighted friend, we would rather save on storage and bandwidth by only downloading the audio.
Oh, that makes sense. Thank you so much for explaining!
