[-] robocall@lemmy.world 18 points 10 months ago

Arise balkan gang!

[-] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 10 months ago

Arise balkan gang!

Czechs and Slovaks too. Or at least the meat is the same shape. Usually served with potatoes, raw onion and mustard.

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

Raw onions are criminally underrated

that exists in bosnia. it is called ćevapi. literally the taste of a hamburger.

[-] lunarul@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

Romania too, but definitely better than a hamburger. It's more like a sausage.

That is the shitpost content we need! 🤣

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

Now do hotdogs in the shape of hamburgers. Just a weird, smooth, round-edged red disc of meat

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 14 points 10 months ago
[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

In Norway they are sold as fast food and are called rollerburger

[-] roguetrick@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Brother, we sell them in every 7/11 in the US and we pack them with cheese. They are mass produced turds.

[-] sfxrlz@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

they look like the one that clogged my toilet a couple of days ago.

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 10 months ago

[-] Valmond@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

Blatant rip-off of the Norwegian invention "roller burger", which was a turd shaped hamburger intended to be served at gas stations using their hot dog rollers and a hot dog bun.

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 4 points 10 months ago

Used to live across from a 711 that had hotdog shaped burger... Tubes or whatever you wanna call it. Basically this, except super uniform. Pretty sure it was extruded instead of formed or rolled or something.

They were not good lol

[-] KuroiKaze@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

They are called a cheeseburger bite and they are aight fresh but in general you are shaving years off your life eating one

[-] Defectus@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Ah, you made cevapcici, just some onions and kaymak in a lepinja and you're in heaven

[-] WildPalmTree@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Paraphrasing: what is a hot dog but meat in an intestant. When you consume a hot dog, you do not eat the hot dog, you become the hot dog.

[-] lvxferre@mander.xyz 7 points 10 months ago

They evolved. Just like they would inside your body.

...in Brazil those are sold in skewers, people call them kafta. And yes, if you don't take care while shaping them, they'll look, well... not really appetising.

[-] rumba@lemmy.zip 7 points 10 months ago

I was on a cruise once. Upper deck mini-buffet had a plate of piped black bean croquettes.

They were lumpy like the beef here, and because they were piped, one side of the ends was pinched off.

The head chef for the boat was making his rounds. We were laughing at the presentation. He smiled at us probably thinking what are these assholes laughing at, he looked down, frowed, what za fuk were zey thinking putting shit out like this. Within a few minutes the pan disappeared and the next day that buffet was quite pretty.

[-] BlueMagma@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago

This really looks like shit.

[-] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Well it's good to know they came out as expected

[-] radicalautonomy@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

7-11 Cheeseburger Bite. Hamburger in the shape of a hot dog, with nacho cheese injected into the middle. Put it on a hot dog bun, and top it with their free chili and nacho cheese. Most 7-11s don't carry them any more, so when I find one that does, I immediately buy two and them shotgun them in my car in the parking lot.

Also, some dude said that in the northeast US they call them "hamdogs".

[-] leadore@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

The correct way to do this is by making them into meatballs and make a meatball sub.

[-] epyon22@programming.dev 6 points 10 months ago
[-] ElectricPotato@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Those are commonly referred to as "grilldos", or singularly, a "grilldo".

[-] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 6 points 10 months ago

I thought a grilldo was getting pegged at the barbecue?

[-] silver_wings_of_morning@feddit.dk 6 points 10 months ago

I see nothing wrong here. We have had these alternatives to hot dogs called beef dogs. They are great!

[-] RandomVideos@programming.dev 6 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I thought this was referring to mici

It took me a while to understand the joke

[-] pointnull@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago
