OP has posted (and re-posted) about Bluesky about 40 times in the last 48 hours. I'm down voting every single one. Quit shilling for billionaires.

https://techcrunch.com/2024/10/24/bluesky-raises-15m-series-a-plans-to-launch-subscriptions

They've invested millions and they wouldn't unless they expected a significant return. The only way to get a return on a social media investment is either ads or subscriptions via enshittifying it just enough to get people to pay. bluesky is destined to be trash.

You were asked a direct and simple question.

[-] KLISHDFSDF@lemmy.ml 2 points 17 hours ago

And I answered it? There are multiple wealthy people involved. Do you expect the full name, address, and social security number of every individual? I don't care to do all that research for you. My point still stands, Bluesky's devs are in debt (via investments) to wealthy people who will want to extract value (money) from it. Enshittification is inevitable.

What billionaire? You made the claim. It seems trivial to produce a name, yeah?

This is what it looks like when a stubborn person makes a small mistake and would rather torpedo the whole argument than make a concession. It's so common and so disappointing.

I think there's a lot of overlap between people interested in a reddit alternative and a twitter alternative. Or maybe as that guy below says it's just that I'm personally posting about it a lot.

But why not about mastodon? We are on the Fediverse here! And you really have posted a lot of articles that are basically just advertisements for bluesky.

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

We have a Twitter alternative already. And it's not going to be enshittified now or in the future.

[-] oxjox@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

No. It’s because it’s you. Blocked.

Everybody talks about "why not Mastodon" in the comments of these. I thought about that for a long while back when I used Mastodon, and I have an answer: discoverability. ActivityPub does not make things easy to find, which makes a Twitter-like service even more like screaming into the void. It effectively becomes "bring your own audience," and tends to only amplify the voices that are already the loudest, though as a consequence of the backend, rather than a malicious choice like Twitter.

[-] psychothumbs@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah I think that's exactly it
