Or just any mobile games in general? I'm looking for discussions and recommendations for mobile games that aren't just trashware and cash grabs.

Edit: u/_MoveSwiftly has kindly created https://lemmy.world/c/androidgamers for this exact purpose.

I would love it if there is one. I do have a few that I love. Some of them are not free or exclusively mobile, of course.

  • Rusty Lake/Cube escape series (escape room games)
  • Games by Dark Dome (escape room games)
  • Very Little Nightmares (puzzle horror adventure)
  • Tiny Room Mysteries (escape room)
  • Monument Valley 1 and 2 (Zen puzzle game)
  • IQ Dungeon (think outside the box puzzle game)
  • Hidden Folks (basically Where's Wally/Waldo)
  • Alto's Adventure (Zen endless runner)
  • Alto's Odyssey (Zen endless runner)
  • 80 Days (narrative adventure)
  • Hungry Hearts Diner series (heartwarming story idle games)
  • Oden Cart series (heartwarming story idle games)
  • Tsuki's Adventure (cute chill idle game)
  • Tsuki's Odyssey (cute idle game, animal crossing like)

Also a lot of decent mobile games are free to play if you are subscribed to Netflix

It's so hard to find decent Android games. Would love somewhere that discusses good ones

Depends by what you like to play; genre, artyles and so on. I guess there's enough good games, but some of them are premium.

[-] Homo_Stupidus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I don't mind paying for a premium game as long as it's actually worth the price.

If premium games are fine, one that catched my eye was Huntdown, it's just pure arcade cybepunk game. Actually the frenetic gamplay reminded me of both metal slug and cadillac and dinosaurs, and it's classic 80's cyberpunk scenerey. But you gotta like arcade games a lot, that's the whole point of the game.

I know people are shy about making communities, but it's honestly really easy. If you don't end up making one, comment here and I'll make it for you.

I'm not really sure how I would set up a community. Do you need any hardware? I don't have the spare time to moderate something like a community.

I don't have much time either, but it doesn't require much at the moment. You can appoint others as mods too.

You add it by clicking on the create community button on the top. I'll create one right now.
