One of the reasons I love AEW is that they introduce me to all these awesome lucha's I wouldn't know about if they didn't exist. Gravity's great. And so is the wrestler.
That was Lucha Underground for me. LU got me watching AAA.
I haven't seen LU...but I feel like I need to. All I've ever heard is good things.
I highly recommend it!
That was the great thing about Nitro hour 1 back in the day!
WTF!
Darby is INSANE
Terrible mental health days this week but Dynamite helps so much. I'm so proud of Orange Cassidy for making it big and landing a bigger role in AEW <3
I wasn't sure about him at first but now OC's one of my favourites. And I hope everything's okay. If OC doesn't help, a healthy dose of MJF and Adam Cole should do the trick :p
MJF is so damn good. I don't see many people say it: he's got some serious skills as a writer. That promo is a good example of that.
MJF is always good TV.
Poor Roddy getting boundaried. He's just trying to lookout for his friend man
Poor lad got called a default CAW! Absolutely brutal
Taya has such a bruiser bully style. It's a niche change of pace.
Here's AR Fox vs Swerve (Killshot) in Lucha Underground that I feel obligated to post
Thanks for this. I'll check it out later.
AR Fox teaming up with Swerve is always a good time
Wow didn't see that coming,an AR Fox heel turn especially after that whole feel-good segment.
Yeah, nice little swerve there.
Dax is big mad about MJF's impression of him lol
I was surprised he could even cut a promo what with Punk's jockstrap still in his mouth.
He should make a podcast about it
Long focus on "Book the women's division better" sign.
Hahaha, I mean I agree but probably shouldn't advertise it.
The camera man agreed lol
I love when I get to witness the birth of a meme. Looking forward to seeing that on Promo Joe and Botch.
Jack Perry more like Jerk Perry
Black/Orange.
I beat Hook shirt.
Dragging the belt.
What a douchebag. Christian taught him well
Absolutely. He's almost getting Callis heat right now.
Sacrificing Wheeler Yuta is always fun!
Pacs chaotic music and him faking a turnbuckle pose always pops me
Don Callis Al Pacino and Chris Jericho is Keanu Reeves
I like it. Let's call it "Bad News' Boys."
I wonder what Britt was sick with about a month ago. Since then she looks like she lost some weight the hard way and hasn't recovered yet
It's about time the Lucha Bros. are back on TV.
Can we start making sure teams are easily identified by their tights.
From the wont angle it looks like Mox and Chuck are a team. Casual viewers need to be able to quickly identify who's who in a matchoke this and I feel like they could have done much better.
Chaotic main event leading to pandemonium causing more questions than answers. Pretty good Dynamite.
I found this week's to be a bit of a step below the last stretch. They've been on a real hot streak though lately so a down week one of these days was sure to come. With all of The Elite getting the week off though and them holding significant MJF/Cole developments for Saturday this was bound to happen. The in-ring action was really good though, as always. Swerve/Darby is such a good pairing that you can never complain about a Wednesday when you get to see them do what they do.
That sign about the Women's division says it all though regarding them. I can't help but wonder what the root cause here is, is it a WBD thing by any chance or just a Tony thing? You've heard scattered reports over the years about how WBD does have an influence on who gets screentime and whatnot and in ROH you're seeing a much better booked women's division. I can't help but wonder if it's a WBD directive to limit their minutes due to historically lower ratings for their segments and to focus primarily on the marketable women like Britt/Jade/etc which is hurting the division at large.
I think you're right: WBD has a lot to do with the women's match time. I remember a "report" saying something similar a few months back. I hate to say it, but it also doesn't help that many of the wrestlers they feature are pretty green.
As for the episode: it wasn't the best Dynamite…especially coming off Blood and Guts. And It doesn't help that the two most anticipated matches of the week are both happening on Collision (Tag and Ladder match). I was watching Dynamite but looking past it at the same time, if that makes sense.
Darby as the stern moral compass for everyone is a bit weird but whatevs.
Are we getting a three way Trios feud, BCC, Best Friends and Death Triangle??
That sign in the crowd scares the shit out of me
Jade disappears for a few weeks and TBS is already rebranded lol
I'm very interested in seeing how she's booked when she comes back.
Her and Wardlow are in similar boats to me. Both should be booked as monsters because of look. Jade is a good promo and Wardlow backs his up in the ring but they each lack the other component to me.
Darby's getting A LOT better in front of the camera/on the mic.
Yeah somewhere in the Pillars feud, he really found his voice to me. His interruption on Collision to setup the main was also pretty good.
I could see Taya winning this. She could use the boost, and a loss here wouldn't hurt Britt in my eyes.
AR Fox is such a menace, he just flippy shits through all of Oranges mind games.
