RIC is having fun!

HAM & MAG at each others throats - showing why the rules exist

Yikes an Alpine ran into Leclerc's car before they've even formed on the grid.

Edit: It was Ocon. He got a new front wing and a 10s penalty.

Sprints are better with the new format. The fact that there is PARC ferme later means the sprint has even less consequence on the race and so there is more close racing

They can be quite good fun now they are doing them on the right tracks.

Still takes up too much of the weekend

[-] Sentau@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yeah. Actually watching the sprints during a work week is far more tiring. Atleast now that effort is rewarded with better racing in both the sprint and the race

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Vowles says Kimi Antonelli won't be in Imola, dispelling the Logan Sargeant being replaced by the next race rumors.

Not possible without FIA approval anyways, and apparently Merc don't want that either

[-] mhague@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Let's go! Finally able to catch some F1 live, hoping for a fun sprint and race.

Mag owning up to it. Fair play.

Kevin "Gandalf" Magnussen: You shall not pass.

[-] Entropywins@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Kmag is a boss and half the excitement of the 2024 season!

Is that 10 seconds Penalty for Magnussen fair? Austrian commentators dont think so

[-] GoodEye8@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

It is. Magnussen deserved a penalty and 10 second is the minimum penalty that's given out this season. It's only harsh of you're not used to the new overall harsher penalties.

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

Relevant info is that this first penalty was for a situation that could have been considered racing by some people. The second situation was much clearer in that it should be a penalty.

Wow lewis really cleaned house there

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

Lewis and Fernando - the two most experienced drivers on the grid - with the most stupid moves at the start of this race lol

[-] Entropywins@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Excuse me, I'm sure I could do something stupider...

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Bad start for Perez, dropping to 4th.

Sargeant up to 12th wow. Haas' making good gains too.

Sucks for Norris.

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Yuki outta nowhere and into the points. Well done.

[-] mhague@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I forgot about the drive through penalty and missed that Yuki got the last point. Even still I thought he did well on the softs.

[-] TheBlue22 2 points 2 years ago
