The pictures from Bedford are startling. A beaver swimming up the highway? A diner's patio floating down the parking lot like a raft? Even the Bedford mall seems to be getting ruined. I saw some unofficial reports of 250 mm rainfall out there as of 8 pm last night.

The weather this summer has already been so intense that I'm worried for proper hurricane season — and future summers.
