App battery usage > "Restricted" does not work well with some apps.

Apps like Instagram, TikTok, etc, even if the background usage is restricted they still consume battery on background. And I don't need to receive any kind of notification from them until I open them.

Because of this I ended up uninstalling them and now I use Chrome. But the mobile web experience is much worse at least for Instagram.

Edit: some user recommended me "Ice Box" app to freeze apps in the background. I'm testing it and looks nice!

Both are brain rot apps, and both sell your data.

This. The major issue with those apps is that they need to continuously collect your data in the background (for example Google Maps will record all the places you go to in real-time) and I don't think they'll make it easy for you to just disable their background telemetry, and that obviously will increase battery usage.

WhatsApp is the worst because I can't uninstall it and use it from a mobile browser. But it's the top battery drainer for me. It definitely leeches much more power than it needs for a few background messages and call notifications.
