Mindustry and Minetest. Both great games. Both with thriving modding communities.

AlephOne (Marathon) trilogy has a great community of modders and is still a surprisingly fun game.

Thanks, never played any of those back in the day. Will have to check this out.

Super Tux Kart, The Dark Mod, and X-Moto are great. I created the original Skate Park Mod and a few of the early "interesting replays" like Slinky Mod, German Ham, and the first "cheating" replay.

@jazztickets Oh sick, I didn't realize The Dark Mod could be played entirely on its own now! I thought it was more like Doom & you still needed a copy of Thief to use & play it.

And this is the first I've read of X-Moto, which is wild given the popularity of some of its closed-source contemporaries. Great to know there's a more community driven alternative available!
