Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday he has received a letter informing him that he is a target of the Justice Department’s investigation into efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, an indication that he may be indicted by federal prosecutors in the coming weeks.

It's no surprise that Smith has identified Trump as a target of the probe, but it shows that the probe is wrapping up and charges have been considered. We may very well see 3 indictments (2 more) by the end of the summer.

Edit: grammar

So presumably this would be under a different judge than the one in Florida for the documents case?

Yes, the venue for this will be in DC and there will be zero chance of Justice Cannon presiding.

And yet, he's going to be the GOP presidential candidate for 2024. And if the dumbass "no labels" idiots split the vote, as they are planning to, then Trump will be president again. At that point he is above the law and all these investigations get neutered. He'll probably have his prosecutors arrested.

Just remember, you can insight a riot against the US government, attempt to overturn an election, steal secret documents, sell them to our enemies (allegedly), and still be eligible for office. However, if you were ever part of a Communist party, you are ineligible for public office. Maybe it's just me, but that seems a little off.
