Every word uttered by a conservative is deception or manipulation. Honesty is not a conservative trait. It never has been.

[-] WhyFlip@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

It's fear more than anything.

[-] niktemadur@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Ignorant fear breaks and shatters a lot of things around itself. Among the first things to go are character and ethics. And with that, any mental gymnastics are allowed so as to NOT go anywhere near Truth.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 8 months ago

No, it's primarily hatred. They great what they hate. The decency in conservatives I've known is skin-deep. Spend enough time with them, they'll show you who they really are...

My entire lifetime conservative === Republican. And they've been lying, fear mongering and cheating as long as I've been alive.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

With respect, people who support trump in any way, yes.

People who have different politics to you, no.

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

It's not about their different politics though. It's about them being dishonest liars who'll say or do whatever they need to in the moment to accomplish end they want.

Newt Gingrich was a lying piece of shit before Trump was even a blip on the radar.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

I don't disagree with that either .. but maga people were newt people.

But it's important to not make categorical errors... Many conservative Americans aren't like that. (Maybe a small many, but still)

If you actually want the Dems to win the election, then you should be correct in your language. Otherwise you hand the other side votes.

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

maga people were newt people

Disagree, they may have been predecessors but as I said Trump wasn't even a blip on the radar yet. You might as well say Grover Norquist was a MAGAt. If we're tracing the toxicity back we can go all the way back to FDR. The right is a party of failed policies and incorrect theories, full stop.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

You are not understanding me.

I'm saying the people who are dumb enough to fall for populist bullshit and lies.. and never check the evidence themselves.. fall for both of these conmen.

But there are conservative Americans that don't also. It's not hard to understand. Accurate language is important.

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

I understand very well that you're trying play the No True Scotsman card.

85% of Conservative comgresspeople signed Norquists tax pledge by 2012 and Gingrich led the "Republican Revolution" in 1994, they're all like this. The ones you think "don't" sure seem to support the same policies as the ones who do, they're just quieter about it.

If you're unhappy with how the Republican party is perceived I'd recommend leaving it as it's corrupt to the core and the only people still involved are grifters and useful idiots.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

Also, I'm Irish. Although I briefly lived in the states I am definitely not republican lol.

And also, I'm a creative. Musician, actor... I'm left leaning... That's why I criticised your speech. I am trying to help the Dems get votes here.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

Nope.

Just saying language is important.

If I publicly said 'every conservative Americans wants a king,' rather than something like 'every maga supporter wants a king...'

Well, the first statement just pushes idiots cotes to trump (and considering the American education system, well it has it's gaps, shall we say...)

You Are just handing him votes, AND saying something incorrect on the surface.

Of course there is nuance, and you should be able to talk with hyperbole and fun rhetoric....

But if it's handing them votes.... Cos they don't understand hyperbole... Then what is your actual goal here.

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Ah you're not an American, suffice to say things are complicated here and I'm not "handing anyone votes" by calling the Republican party liars and thieves. Anyone who pretends I am would've never voted against that party anyway.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

I have lived there... As I said.

You did it again. Republicans aren't thieves and liars. But anyone who supports trump is. (Which is absolutely what's important right not. I hope you remember that at some point.)

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

What would you call a group of people who willingly support proven corrupt liars and thieves?

Where are these mythological people who oppose Trump? We've seen any internal opposition be primaried out or bend the knee to him so yes, if you still stand by the Republican party I'll absolutely call you a fucking moron.

[-] ImpressiveEssay@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

They aren't on the internet, that's for sure.

And they aren't publicly competing with he maga cult.. cos yaknow.. they might have jobs or a family or miscellaneous other reasons.

But.. wait.. hold up.. are you literally denying that there is a single conservative American who doesn't like trump in 333.3 million.

Yaknow what.. I'll let you debate yourself on that one. I'm out. Thanks for the chat though!

[-] nomous@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

are you literally denying that there is a single conservative American who doesn't like trump

No I'm saying they'll still vote for him even though they know he's a piece of shit because they're brainwashed.

Thanks for the chat as well, have a pleasant rest of your day.

[-] Melatonin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

All ******* are liars.

^^^^^^^ insert group you wish to depersonalize here.
[-] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Fun experiment! I tried it with "progressives", "undecided" and even "socialists", but none of them worked.

In fact, so far, only "conservatives" and "Republicans" seem to fit properly in that phrase. Neat!

[-] Melatonin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

I'll bet you there's a lot of people who would disagree with you. Just because you're only saying it about YOUR most hated group doesn't mean they're not saying it about you

And you're both wrong. I wish we would stop being so immature.

Tit for Tat. You hate them=they hate you. They kill you=you kill them. Hate and kill. Fight for everything, it's like a schoolyard. Someone almost assassinated one of theirs? GREAT!

Who's going to be the grown-ups here?

Let me guess. THEY HAVE TO START FIRST!

[-] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

I'll bet you there's a lot of people who would disagree with you.

Nah. Even conservatives are aware they are famous for deception and manipulation. Their statements regarding the honesty of others are not to be trusted, as every word uttered by a conservative is deception or manipulation.

Just because you're only saying it about YOUR most hated group...

I never claimed to hate anyone.

doesn't mean they're not saying it about you.

The words of a conservative can be disregarded out of hand, as they are always deception or manipulation.

Your comment then goes on about killing, an assasination and grown-ups, which is all irrelevant to my observation about the dishonesty of conservatives.
