The image on the monitor is the Windows 95 3D Maze screensaver. Oh gosh I'm old.
xscreensaver also has an implementation of that maze screensaver
For some reason I was thinking of the first level in Hover! For Windows 95
"If one of those hovercraft see the player, a tone will sound, like a sonar ping, indicating they've seen the player, and will move to attack."
Oh my god, that's what that sound meant...
