Reddit experimenting with blocking mobile browsers
(old.reddit.com)
A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.
Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Yeah I am 100% sure that old.reddit is going to die. Not now, cause of the massive backlash already happening, but soon. Potentially immediately after this situation dies down. Good thing I'm already moving out of that whole situation...
Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if they decided to kill it sooner rather than later. Restricting mobile access even further indicates to me that they're probably trying to get all their negative press out of the way as quickly as possible.
How do I know it's going to die? Because spez said it wouldn't.
Also, many years back, he said old.reddit.com wouldn't die until after i.reddit.com died.
Well, guess what...
They were pretty clear during their "AMA" that they couldn't care less about the backlash, even doubling down on the lies about the Apollo dev.
I'm just pleasantly surprised it lasted as long as it did. I was certain old.reddit would be shut down years ago
