Shop local, shoplift mega-corps
Where do you shop local? I think the public lost when they let down mom and pop shops in favor of these megacorps. They wouldn't have had the leverage to jack up price gouging and inflation so much otherwise.
See if there's a farmer's market in your area. Many places have one on weekends, at least.
I go to the local international grocery store a lot, it's actually spectacular, and there's also the Polish grocery chain in my city which is quite good.
