Base 12 has factors: 1,2,3,4,6. Dividing by 5 is tricky.
Base 10 has factors: 1,2,5. Dividing by 3 is tricky.

I also think there was something to do with fractions of an inch too. Like that divisibility was also an advantage of imperial.
