Why isn't anyone talking about this? It looks like Meta wants to compete with Twitter with a new Instagram microblogging app which will probably be compatible with Mastodon
Key Point of the article:

It's not instagram itself, but a new app made by instagram

It doesn't have any official name yet, but from what is known it would indeed be a separate app
