I genuinely don't know what market this is for.
Cigarettes don't benefit from this, and we already have long ones for lighting the stove or wood burner.
What's this stubby one for?
In case you are serious, it's for lighting pipes.
Do people have issues lighting pipes with normal lighters?
No.
I have no idea, never tried, but I can imagine it's easier when your fingers don't need to be so close...
I actually use one of these for work. It fits comfortably in my pocket and don't burn my fingers when I have to light up a bunch of sterno burners.
