Create FOMO for players so they continuously check in and play to unlock stuff so they never miss out on an opportunity

This comment made me mad at Destiny 2 again.

[-] NoSpiritAnimal@lemmy.world 25 points 10 months ago

Your anger is pure and justified.

Someone say something about rocket League?

[-] Alteon@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Rocket League taught to not worry about missing out. The amount of mundane shit that you can get for toppers and antennas are ridiculous. I think they've modeled about every cheapo thing you can find at a dollar store. I think they are making their way through TJ Maxx crud atm. I'll be back when I can get a mildly used, mid-century, black, faux leather couch with purple highlights, and a Striker tag.

Same, fuck Bungie

I've reached the point where if a game gives me FOMO I will just stop playing the game

[-] DesolateMood@lemm.ee 6 points 10 months ago

This is basically how I play Forza. Play a couple days to get my weeklys and then check in the next week

[-] kameecoding@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago

Are you playing then or are you just doing a todo list every week?

[-] ShootBANGdang@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 months ago

If they want to play the game, might as well do a few interesting challenges and earn some cool shit.

[-] jws_shadotak@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago

Drop that shit man

Play something you actually enjoy

[-] DesolateMood@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

I do enjoy it, there's just not much to do outside of that

FoMO is a powerful psychological weapon.
