They don't want to be "saved"

[-] chitak166@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Really? You speak for all of them?

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Obviously not for all, but demonstrably for the majority

[-] chitak166@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

What about the ones who you don't speak for?

That depends on what you mean by saving

[-] chitak166@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Lol. It didn't "depend on what I mean by saving" when you said "they don't all want to be saved."

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Whatever you meant by saving, it's obvious that most Afghans don't want that kind of intervention.

Do you even know what you meant yourself?

[-] chitak166@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

"What about the ones you don't speak for? Are they worth saving?"

Starting to think you're a bad troll, lol.

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Why don't you answer the question

[-] chitak166@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Because you already have an answer. You said "not all of them want to be saved." I said "what about the ones who do want to be saved?" And now you're like "what does saving mean?"

Dude, just go with what you thought it meant in your first reply! Lol.

If you can't do that, then you admit you're a troll. It really is that simple.

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

I assumed you meant some kind of military intervention in Afghanistan, if that is what you meant then no, they are not worth saving.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

The linked article suggests otherwise.

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

The linked article, like the vast majority of articles about Afghanistan, exclusively covers Kabul.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

So the people in Kabul are not Afghan?

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago
[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

How am I trolling when you're the one claiming the people in Kabul don't count as Afghan?

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Your reading comprehension is lacking, I never claimed such a thing. I talked about the majority of Afghanis and the vast majority of them to not live in Kabul.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

You said nothing about the majority of Afghans (Afghani is a currency). Here is our entire conversation, starting with the comment I replied to:

I'm not sure what the point of this attempt at gaslighting is.

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

True, I confused you with a different comment chain. Doesn't change the bad-faith nature of your comments though

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

How is my responding directly to what you said, on-topic, bad faith?

[-] Syntha@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yeah I got the threads mixed up, sorry about that.
