this anti-IRS position is not going away. my mom hates the IRS and feels victimized, (because she hasn't figured out her taxes)
The IRS owes my mom and most broke people a simple accounting,
Or taking lobbying money from companies like HR Block to prevent changes to how taxes are done - ie, like a lot of the rest of the world where they send you a "does this look right?" report and you tick yes or no.
paying HR Block for anything is like buying crap in a game.
But... But... I want the skin with the cool spikes on it :(
IIRC it's H&R Block and TurboTax that have given tons of cash to politicians to ensure the tax code is complicated, and that e-filing remains in their hands.
I remember there used to be a day where you could e-file 1040 long forms through the IRS without TurboTax or H&R Block. That ship sailed over 20 years ago.
No they cut back the IRS so the can't put resources into complicated audits on rich people.
