@ada @jdp23 Oh dear, here's what this post looks like on Mastodon -- blank. I wonder if bet the angle-brackets didn't get escaped.

I can see @nexusofprivacy@mastodon.social's reply on blahaj.zone, but I'm not seeing it on lemmy.blahaj.zone, and I didn't get a notification there. What happens if I reply here?

UPDATE: Now I am seeing the post from mastodon.social on lemmy.blahaj.zone but without the image (which was kind of the whole point, oh well). Not sure whether it had just taken a bit to get over there or it related to my reply in some way.

Yeah, a lot of things around federation with non lemmy/kbin instances are still not very mature.

[-] jdp23 1 points 2 years ago

yeah. it's amazing when it works, so it's easy to excuse the ways it doesn't work as smoothly as it could.

@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone I wonder if I can reply to an existing post when the community is marked "only mods can post"?

[-] jdp23 1 points 2 years ago

Yes. Oh my. What could possibly go wrong?

[-] jdp23@blahaj.zone 1 points 2 years ago

@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone and I got a notification on Calckey when you replied.

A throwaway community for me to play with Lemmy's functionality. I'd make it private if I could but I can't!
