Oh sorry I forgot Canada was on Mars

Sorry, I forgot people being slightly fucked over by a company was earth-shattering information

Should they just make some shit up like Fox does then?

What? No! Just report shit that is of actual consequence. This stuff is so boring.

[-] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

It is boring but when their entire company is based on a 24 hour News model they need to push something out every few hours regardless of how slow the news day is. Fox just fills that time with stuff that excites their viewers but has no basis at all in fact.

Eh, Fox is choosy with their facts. They are capable of reporting factual things. The thing is, this is just a big old nothingburger. Write an option piece about Olaf Scholz's eye patch. Or a day in the life of someone living in Myanmar under the military regime. This world is so full of life and experience, why waste airtime on this?

Apparently it was shattering enough to make you want to click on it.

You know you do have the ability to simply keep scrolling, right?

Yes, I know I shouldnt be so worked up about this.

Air Canada is the main international carrier for Canada.

Reporting on nonsense like this on a slow news day is better than just making shit up like some other 24 hour "News" outlets though.

Nowhere as bad as the Americans having a "politics" lemmy that only allows US politics

[-] Arrakis@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

On the English-speaking internet, North America = the world.

I think you will find that it only includes half of north America (604,155,369 total population https://worldpopulationreview.com/continents/north-america-population vs the 334,233,854 of the contry you likely mean.)

North America is the term generally used for the US and Canada, where I'm from anyway, so I'm not sure what you mean. I do enjoy all the downvotes from the Americans whose exceptionalism is being offended by my pointing it out though, keep it coming chumps!

Don't forget Mexico, Greenland, or the entire Caribbean.
