Question: Is there a way in the settings to show separate upvote and downvote counts instead of the summed total? (startrek.website)

Reddit used to work like this but nuked it many years ago. I like it because it gives much more information about the consensus at a glance.

Sorry, genuinely didn't realise telling you this would be so unhelpful to you, but now I realise that maybe you might prefer to just look in the settings on the app, if you don't want to open up a discussion.

It means that the data is available from the apis, i.e yes, it is possible (and a relevant response).

And... I assumed some other people were still experimenting with apps for lemmy and might like to know that this feature is available in at least one of them, to help them decide. I don't quite understand why my honest attempt to provide useful information upset so many people.
