*Any legal reason, businesses can get into a lot of trouble if they try to fire you for an illegal reason. Additionally, unless they have a good reason for the dismissal and can prove it, the employee can file for unemployment which the employer's insurance will have to pay for (and charge the employer a premium for), so there is a large financial penalty for these sorts of petty dismissals
