I traveled through France via train and this is way WAY scarier when you go through. This aerial view is still abstract, actually seeing it, kilometer and kilometer through the entire country is deeply unsettling. This is the new normal and it is catastrophic.

I live close to the french border and while it's really bad here - our forests already switched to autumn mode due to heat stress and dryness - it's much, much worse once you drive around an hour west.

unsettling is an understatement. I get the feeling people are avoiding the topic - not denying - but avoiding it, so they don't have switch into full panic mode.
