I had a meeting with a high level recruiter for advice this morning. They seemed like they want to help me in my job hunt but since I don't trust myself to judge other people's trustworthiness or intentions without a track record to go on, I honestly have no idea.
Maybe they're sincere, maybe they just want to +1 the number of people they're working with. I'm unemployable in my field but get recruiters contacting me pretty regularly. I don´t know how it works, but it's suss.
Edit: But I don't think you have anything to lose, really, if you don't get hired, they don´t make any money (?) ... but you also have to be careful for scams. lots of scammers in that space.
In this case I'm not worried about scams. In the past I've had such meetings seem very promising to me but then they ghost.
Best of luck!
Thanks!
