January 1st of 2000 would like to dispute this claim. At some point the world really was just one big party.
It wasn't simultaneous though, because timezones.
Oh it was at some point, it just didn't start simultaneously; nor would op's celebration.
Yes I remember Jan 1st, 2000. I remember Dec 31st 1999, which... Yeah, everyone was waiting for it. In fact the 90s had so much shit waiting for the lead up to 2000 it wasn't funny.
