I'm not sure it matters anymore. It's like they've found a way to make it not matter.
The government has told them it will pay whatever costs are needed in order to complete their ultimate surveillance state utopia.
The government's too broke for that this time, though. Especially true after the bubble starts to pop and everyone's credit gets downgraded again.
People gambling away a small portion of their generational wealth is, in practice, infinite money.
It's kinda impressive. Technology has come so far that upper class is basically living in a post-scarcity collective now.
We could get away with 6 hour work-weeks at $300/hr if we just removed the middlemen inefficencies from the economy.
