But there's no sauce though? It's just rice, scallions, and eggs, as they do in the Jiangnan region.
No seasonings? That must be oily and bland
There is salt and white pepper, but that's just standard for every dish. And the scallions and eggs impart flavor.
Most Su-style dishes are subtle on flavors. I never understood the need for American Chinese food using so much sauce/spices as a sledgehammer.
Yes there is only fried rice in your little village and chinese town in America /s And there are only 2 extreme pince of salt or a bottle of spices. /S Please get off your little pony. Your cooking is bad. And the flavour is not there. The oil can be seen unevenly distributed. The rice is clumpy. The scallions have big chunks. So on.
Just FYI, said "little village" have 85 million people, more than twice the population of the most populous state in the U.S. (california), which only have 39 million. The same village also have higher population than the entirety of Germany (thrid populous country in Europe with 84 million people, only behind Russia and Turkey)
Fyi, you missed the point. Or do you mean those 84 million ppl only have salt and pepper for spice? Or do you mean only that tiny village can fry rice and it's better than anywhere else?
Sounds like you just have a grudge against South Eastern Chinese food.
You must be very fun to talk to.
Lmao, you can't read. He brought up that city himself to defend his bad cooking as if the whole people there only fry rice with salt and pepper and assumed I must be loving American Chinese cooking style.
You are hard to talk.
Sorry, you are the op but reply to others thread. You are pathetic to bring the entire people of a region to defend your lack of skill and taste.
Maybe a bit more context would help:
All I am trying to say is that 1) different region have different interpretation of the same food, and different people prefer different versions 2) even if OP don't have great cooking, there is no need to be hyper critical about it. OP is feeding themself, and generous share their food image here for free.
I hope we can all agree fried rice is not the thing that is worth our anger now (plenty of other things in the world are). Thus, I hope we can stop this argument here, and move on to more important things in our life
Thank you for sharing the overview. Appreciate it. My country has region with very mild seasoning as well, that doesn't mean delicate subtle flavour is only salt and pepper and poor execution.
All I'm saying is he is posting in a forum. That's an open invitation to comment. It's fair game to be praised or criticized. No one is paying for anything here. He tries to defend his cooking by bringing up a large group of people as if everyone there only uses salt and pepper. And that's not his only problem.
I'm sorry if my comments came across as looking down on a group of Chinese people. I only want to combat his poor attitude on top of poor Cooking skill in particular.
The end.
All this over fried rice.
Who hurt you?
I'd be happy to see you post something here. At least a fried rice battle would be entertaining for everyone.
Not everyone who can cook needs to broadcast their fruit to the world. I don't have a pic of my fried rice because its such a casual dish and I don't post anything. But here you go my Christmas dinner just to rub to you that you have no skill.
I mean, you could have started off with that and made things a lot more fun.
But then again, it's hard not to judge someone that's rather punch down on a sock puppet account.
You are a hard headed idiot who only deflects, can't take criticism, never improves.
It's for your high pony attitude. You cook with no skill but defend your poor result with nothing but weak flavour and assumption of 2 extreme
I don't know what attitude yours is, but at least my pony *sparkles*.
In the oven or split roasted over fire?
I sometimes make simple fried rice like this too and it's great! But do you not put any seasoning?
I mean, just salt and white pepper. But that's standard across any dish.
Oh my, no MSG?? Hayaaa!
