Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Hmm I always thought Linus did this to try to stress test Linux and other things they review, because you know a tech youtuber would more than likely have no trouble making something happen if they wanted to even if they had to get someone else to do it or it took awhile...the idea is they want to help improve it by trying to make things difficult and if it fails to be difficult then they have succeeded. Same thing with their recent ai pc build video, he's putting in unfiltered prompting to try to get answers and it half worked, which is pretty good thst this was able to work imo.
