Thats just a weird and uninformered though common opinion. Sure, if Elon was in charge he'd just start handing out food and get angry when that doesn't work. That's not a solution though in any way. No hate to you this opinion just annoys me
Solving world hunger means expanding food infrustructure. More growing (locally), more distribution, and finally in places moving populations if we want 100% coverage. These are perminent solutions (with maintanance cost, though that would be offset by the economic benefits indirectly). This doesn't increase food prices, it decreases them.
No though, overpopulation on scale isn't going to happen. Food deaths are not the most common form of deaths in these countries and population booms only happen at scale after industrialization. Not after food scarcity is removed.
Lastly, one child policies are stupid. Populations should boom post industrialization. They even out in time and if you fuck with that natural system you get massive issues. Any one child policy will cause incredibly fucked up situations while it's in effect, limit the growth of industry, cause the populance to grow angrier, and long term create unstable generations with wildly disfunctional population statistics. Too many males, disolution of smaller minority groups, and sociatal trauma from the killing of unwanted offspring.
This creates a society where birth characteristics are over-valued.
Lastly, this creates a "bump" generation without the economic boon that comes from the population boost.
One kid policies don't work, damage society in lasting ways, and the problem they purport to solve isn't nearly as big as those created by the act.
No, feeding the world would not cause some great disaster, even if its done in a shit way.
Populations wouldn't explode just from food security, the people would have quite a bit of time before infrustructure degrades far enough to be irreparable.
I don't believe in killing people or limiting births as a solution to ecological problems.
BUT,
If that's what you believe in, I just would like to tell you: Killing one American causes the same reduction in carbon emissions as killing ten congonese people. So if you're gonna be an ecofascist, I just want you to understand which people are living lifestyles most incompatible with life on Earth. Please use that information however you want.
One child policy was used by china with upsides and downsides. They evaded greater suffering doing so but also overdid and parents opted for boys. Interesting though moderators removed my comment here, using their made in china hardware.
Its a fact, "ending worldhunger" would need continuous funding and is not a one-off payment.
