Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

MODERATORS
Fedora with KDE is the bees knees. I used Pop OS! for a while but the slow update cycle sucked. I also work with Redhat a lot, and moving to Fedora felt more familiar. All the multiple computers in my home run it, and have for years fine. Minor problems here and there. My main PC has been running it since 42 and now 44, no problems upgrading when it was time.
I have a few PCs running with Nvidia GPUs, you do need to do a few extra steps for the drivers but no problems otherwise.
It's really a choice on what you prefer, and I just find Fedora better.
