It likely means they don't want to legitimize the state formed so that US and its puppet dictator could go on to on to level every "North" Korean city, killing 15% of the population because gobunism bad

No it's about the USMGK and their puppet Syngman Rhee and their many massacres followed by the war of extermination they lead against the DPRK (the legitimate successor to the PRK outlawed by the USMGK) where between 1/5 and 1/4 of the population of the DPRK was killed alongside the destruction of 80% of structures and the majority of the farmland leaving survivors starving and living in caves.

South "Korea" is about as real as Taiwan. They exist only to serve as Vassal states for the US.

[-] Jaderick@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

I have a bridge to sell you if you think Taiwan isn’t real.

Imagine supporting Chinese imperialism purely because it’s not western. Could never be me lol

[-] pleiades@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago

If someone like waffles, does that mean they must hate pancakes?

[-] Jaderick@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

This reeks of authoritarian dipshittery, but I’ll still ask about your reunification plans

[-] Fancy_Gecko@lemmy.ml 16 points 3 weeks ago

authoritarian

what a thought terminating cliché

[-] Jaderick@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Imagine wanting to be told what to do lmao.

[-] Grapho@lemmy.ml 11 points 3 weeks ago

Imagine being a grown ass adult and basing your politics around childish contrarianism

[-] Jaderick@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

That seems to be the MO of you and this thread.

E.g -“Korea”- and the disregard of South Korean self-determination

[-] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 weeks ago

South Korean self-determination? Sounds cool, when do they start?

"This sounds like Stupid Bad Guy talk"

Damn dude wicked insight

[-] Jaderick@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

-Fails to “gotcha”

-Accuses someone else of being 12

I guess I can’t expect much from a River Rock.

[-] Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 weeks ago

No, he's right, lol.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I don't care about downvotes and I understand where you're coming from...

But I need you to understand you sound fucking nuts.

[-] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 12 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

This is all you guys have at the end of the day, just desperately declaring dissenters insane like a bunch of Victorians when it's always been you living in an insane, fabricated reality, and I know this because I used to be you.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I imagine you are experiencing something you think is freedom when you barely have a sense of where any of this 'non-fabricated' reality actually sits in the scheme of things. Get help before you turn yourself inside out trying to out-reality yourself.

[-] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 weeks ago

It's become cliche to point out projection but holy shit

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I want to know what you think you mean by this.

[-] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I imagine you are experiencing something you think is freedom when you barely have a sense of where any of this ‘non-fabricated’ reality actually sits in the scheme of things

Simple, this is you and you want it to be me

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

So "I know you are but what am I". You're a child.

[-] RiverRock@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

-Every fascist with a cartoon view of the world when you point out their rampant projection

You asked, not my fault the answer makes you feel bad. Go enjoy your freedom

Some of us are having hard times as dissenter's for being non-white folk or just simply having different views than the Democrats or Republicans. I welcome the discussions about this lol

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Can you elaborate on this? I genuinely only wanted to address how arbitrary it seemed to be that someone would go out of their way to just start declaring whole countries as invalid because of American interventionism, which, granted, is not good, to put it super lightly. But I want to know where the need to just inject it wherever comes from.

I'm 100% just having internet arguments here but I don't think I cast the first stone here. The top comment was tailor made for people to engage with. Personally I'm stressed and when I'm stressed I go do shit like this.

[-] whalesmoker@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 weeks ago

Personally, I don't know what goes on in North Korea. Nobody does. The media prevents us from seeing North Korea beyond the spectacles that Western media presents. Such as totalitarian tropes, things like that.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah I agree with that. I'd question any of the info I generally get "from" N.Korea. I would imagine malnutrition is real, although sanctions and blockades are just as responsible as a lack of arable land. I also think Juche would be cool if it wasn't represented by some real weird dudes. Hard to filter the info, I am not an intelligence specialist. Of course this makes it easier to just focus on something else.

[-] whalesmoker@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago

Really, a lot of the problems with North Korea's economy isexacerbated by international sanctions, which prevent other countries from exporting goods to the North. Part of the reason why they resort to more sneaky and dishonest ways to fund their countries treasury.

[-] whalesmoker@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago

Because the media has manufactured consent and the CIA is known to be an unreliable source of information.

Neo-liberal media and neoconservative media always uses their billionaire funded think tanks to promote American imperialism, values and economics unto the world. If you think this strategically, North Korea has a lot of mineral resources that are exploitable by America.

[-] narr1@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 weeks ago

Holy hells, I love it when the libs cloak their condescending attitude and western brainworms in a holier than thou sense of trying to help or something. Why don't you go offer your "help" to someone who asks for it, or are that kinda person who doesn't care for consent?

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

You're right, that is kind of condescending. I actually hate it when people use the get help line but, no, I don't really care here. It rattled you enough to comment on it for someone else so where's the consent now? You like imposing your own sense of superiority in place of someone else? Mad no one directed their energies at you so you step in where they could have easily responded themselves? Holier than thou indeed.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I like how you just say things you've heard and think you're making a point.

[-] pucker4676@lemmy.ml 12 points 3 weeks ago

I mean, it was a couple of Americans that decided where the North/South Korean border would be. South Korea basically is a vassal state.

[-] CardboardDecoy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I mean I don't disagree with the sentiment here but I'm more referring to the wall-eyed declaration people feel the need to make in every vaguely related thread.
