Considering the guy had a list of what looked like 1k+ users being blocked, which honestly confuses me how he managed to get that many users together. I don't even remember most of the users comments after each post, let alone the massive list he had. His ego must be massive to create a curated list like that, which means he took issue with each one of us on that list or built a script that created it based from trigger words from our posts and comments... either way it's not a good look.
The way it was written suggests either LLM slop or just being an obsessive dumbfuck with way too much time on his hands.
His "I'm leaving and taking my ball" rant sounds like option two.
I know, right?! Although to be fair they are very far from mutually exclusive. Looks a lot like both.
It was a very sloppy list. I searched for a few regex terms and there definitely some who only matched two nicks and were way to general for that. For example blocking every nick starting with urheber, which is German and means originator, to just match two accounts who are exactly named like that. It could also be that he put some nicks in the regex just make the block less obvious
I'm pretty sure he also had "kate" in a regex too, which is a reasonably common woman's name in English.
Just Kate, yes:
"^Kate$",Those are dumb, but there are also a lot of regex without the
$(so any can follow) and a few without the^(so it can be anywhere in the name).
