Did a paper with a 20-year old. Intelligent, well-spoken girl. She was absolutely astonished that there are keyboard shortcuts for Cut and Paste.

Never underestimate the lengths an intelligent (but lacking in 'common sense') person will go to when learning something the hard way simply because the easy way didn't exist in their mind. The results of that hard work on their depth and breadth of knowledge is unmatched.

To be fair, the windows tooltip ui has been getting Fisher-Price'ed with it's visual operation buttons, and retraction of information

Well they aren't teaching themselves. They're learning from their predecessors like every generation before them. You think they're all struggling academically by choice?

Good on the three people who wasn't caught, either because the don't use AI or because they at least read the question and the llm output. And gold star if any of them noticed the white text but didn't tell the rest of the students!

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
