Isnt this just virtue signalling? I mean, there are a lot of things that are really really bad and some things are so subjective.
I hope rape is objectively bad, but this is just like saying "what if we could bring up kids in a way that they think war is bad".

“Virtue signalling”? Kinda telling using such language. I understand misogyny is a tough concept to grasp for many men, who often deny it exists and how pervasive it is - so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt here.
But no, this is saying that how we socialise topics is important. And that society at large enables men to get away with such behaviour and by extent promotes it as acceptable.
I don't know how else to explain my point. It's like having a bumper sticker with the text "fuck cancer".
I think you used appropriate language and they're just being rather silly.
Virtue signaling is absolutely a thing. It just happens to be used incorrectly as a term by those who do it most often. Thus is often devalued as a concept.
I mean you can see all the hate people have for being brought up hating queer people. What if we swapped and rapists were hated by the church instead.
What do you mean you "hope" rape is objectively bad? Can you expand on that? I find that phrasing to be... Weird
